About Us:
We are a non-profit organization run by volunteers, who have made a commitment to
promote the sport of competitive swimming in our community as well as develop
(OSI), which is a local swim committee within USA Swimming organization.
Our team is open to all youth in our community who are interested and willing to
learn how to become a competitive swimmer. We have professional coaches who
create an atmosphere that is safe, fun and educational for all levels of swimming.

Pool Location:
The Dick Mealy Memorial Pool at Mark Morris High School is the training location for
the club. The address is 1602 Mark Morris Court, Longview, WA.
Swimmer Groups:
Novice (10 and under): This group is KWSC's first group for our new
swimmers. Swimmers will have tons of FUN while learning to swim, start, and turn
correctly before moving on to the next group.
Juniors (age 8 to 13): This group will continue to work on perfecting stroke
mechanics. Rules of swimming, and stroke perfection will be a big focus of this
group. Dry-land training will also be introduced in this group.
Seniors (12 and over): This group is for advanced swimmers. Aerobic
training, physical training, stroke mechanics, dry-land training and race
preparation will be the focus of this group. This group is structured to allow each
athlete to reach their full potential.
Note: ages are approximate depending on ability except for masters.
Practice Schedule:
- Novice - Mon - Thurs 5:30pm to 6:30pm (Pick 3 days/No Fridays)
- Junior - Mon - Fri 5:30pm to 7:00pm (Pick 3 to 5 days)
- Senior - Mon - Fri 5:30pm to 7:30pm (5 days/week)
Note: Any time Longview Schools are cancelled due to weather, practice will be cancelled.
Dues:
Effective April 2009
- Novice: $35.00 per month
- Junior: $40.00 per month
- Senior: $45.00 per month
Discount: Families with 2 or more swimmers, subtract $3.00 per extra swimmer.
Additional Cost: Swimmers are required to be members of USA Swimming.
The cost of the USA Swimming Membership is currently $56 per year.
Entry Fees: Entry Fees for meets are an additional cost. Meet entry is not
required. You chose the meets you want to attend.
How to Join:
- A new swimmer interested in joining the team may swim 3 times at no cost
to determine if this is something they want to do. There is a $50 deposit
required, but it will be returned if the swimmer does not join the team.
- All you need to do is show up. Please check the monthly calendar first.
The swimmer will be placed in the appropriate group and paper work will
be given to the parent.

Volunteering/Fundraising:
- Any swim meets that are hosted at the Club are considered team projects
and every family is expected to help.
- Our main Fundraiser for the team is the 4th of July booth and again every
family is expected to help.
- There are many other ways to help out the club and assist with
fundraising. We will keep you posted.
